Got old 9 volt batteries lying around? This kit makes good use of them! Every year when you change smoke alarm batteries, you end up with a handful of 9 volt batteries that are essentially ok, just a little discharged. If you don't have any other devices that use them, then they often just end up in the bin.
This kit clips onto a 9 volt battery and turns it into a torch, lantern or flasher. It consists of a tiny PCB (25mm x 15mm) with two battery contacts, two LEDs, a resistor and a tiny switch.
This new version of this torch kit features a 3 position switch. Off is in the centre, moving the switch to the right turns on one LED and to the left turns on both. This allows you to make much better use of the battery capacity than the previous kit.
Makes a great pocket emergency torch using narrow angle LEDs or a general emergency light using wider angle LEDs. It also works well as a hazard flasher using a combination of a red flashing LED and a wide angle red LED.
Kit does not include a 9 volt battery, just the components required to make the torch. If you want LEDs other than the standard narrow angle whites the kit comes with, please mention in the notes during checkout.
