These are Philips PR01 series 1 watt metal film mini sized resistors. They are so small (6.5mm long x 2.5mm diameter), they are not much larger than a ¼ watt resistor!

Use these resistors to run a single power LED from a 4.5 volt supply (such as 3 or 4 torch batteries). Use one resistor for a 3 watt LED, and 2 or 3 in series (for the appropriate resistance) for a 1 watt LED.

They are also ideal as current sense resistors in current controlled circuits.
