RGB colour clock kit

  • Shipping Weight: 200g

This neat little clock is different to anything we have seen before. It doesn't use digital displays but rather six RGB 10mm LEDs, which simply change colour to represent the different numbers.

The colours are loosely based on the resistor colour code, although they are not the same (you can't produce brown with an RGB LED easily, for instance), but with a bit of practice it becomes easy to read.

The clock features a 24 hour display system, as well as an alarm and half hourly beeps (both of which can easily be turned off). It has battery backup, so it never loses the time, and is powered via a mini USB port. It happily runs from a PC USB port, or from a spare power adaptor (most people have a drawer full of these from old phones and the like).

Note that this kit is mostly surface mount, you will need a fine tipped, temperature controlled soldering iron and good eyes or a big magnifier to build this kit - it is not for a beginner!

We highly recommend that you read the instructions for this kit before buying so that you know if it is right for you.
