As I pack orders, I find LEDs that have been supplied to me with bent leads or, in some cases, some of the LEDs from a box might have tarnished leads. I put these in a tray and wait until I have enough, then offer them as a grab bag at a bargain price. I also throw in sample LEDs that I decide not to stock, as well as end-of-line items, and items that are not quite right, but still work as intended.
Most are narrow angle 3, 5 and 10mm types (the most common LEDs), but there will be a few others, maybe wide angle LEDs, RGB or surface mount LEDs. There may also be some standard brightness LEDs in there as well, plus some other non-LED components or devices, as well as a few power LEDs etc.
They are all brand new LEDs, just most of them have bent leads (some are bent close to the case, but should straighten easily enough). Whatever is in there, the price is a bargain. A great way to get a selection of superbright LEDs for experimentation and projects.
This bag includes:
- Over 300 LEDs, mostly superbright
- A bag of around 30 8mm, 60mA wide angle blue LEDs (like the 4.8mm LEDs, just 8mm diameter)
- A bag of around 80 8mm, 60mA wide angle red LEDs (like the 4.8mm LEDs, just 8mm diameter)
- Some resistors and a few capacitors
- An RGB fast colour-changing bulb with an ES14 base (230V)
- A small monocular scope (telescope), it has high magnification but the optics are misaligned and so there is a secondary image when looking through it, but still very usable if you have nothing else.
- One 20 metre roll of 5mm wide conductive fabric adhesive tape. This has a very low resistance and is used as shielding tape inside electronic devices, but can also be used to create circuits etc.
- A built-up sample of our green simple round running lights kit
- A pair of white LED backlight units used for making glowing eyes in costumes etc, wired to a battery holder and ready to go.
- An Arduino compatible board, not sure which one but it has a mini-USB connector and dual 15-pin headers which look like they are spaced to fit a standard 32 pin DIP socket.
- A bag of very small toroidal ferrites, probably 30 or 40 in the bag.
- Some other random bits, maybe a module or two, fasteners etc.
- Probably other stuff that ends up in the bag between listing time and sale time!
