Tritium glow markers are mostly illegal nowadays in Australia, but we show you how to build an LED equivalent that can run a year or more on a pair of button batteries.
This kit lets you build a marker light that will produce a low level glow for up to a year continuously. But unlike a tritium light, you can turn this unit off when not needed to conserve battery, and you can also turn on a high brightness mode, as well as a separate superbright white LED for use as a directional torch.
The marker, when operating in glow mode, looks just like a tritium marker from more than a metre or two away, the effect is very nice.
Kit contains all parts to build the completed light, including the necessary T5 Torx screwdriver (our 50mm spring clamp makes fitting the battery holders much easier too). We will be supplying green filaments as standard but you can use any filament from our 38mm flexible or rigid filament ranges, just add them to your order, but make sure you select the 38mm ones!
Requires two CR1632 button batteries (not supplied). Instructions are here.
The photo doesn't do this kit justice, the completed unit has a very nice industrial look to it with the stainless steel hardware and black PCBs. Completed marker light measures 79mm long x 17mm wide and 14mm thick.

- Button batteries can cause severe or fatal injuries within two hours if swallowed or inserted anywhere into the body.
- If you suspect that a button battery has been swallowed or inserted into any part of the body you must seek medical help immediately.
- This kit, once built as per the instructions, has been tested by LEDsales to meet child safety requirements: the cells cannot be removed and cannot dislodge accidently, even when the device is dropped or thrown. - This kit has been designed to meet the requirements set out in Australian legislation in 2022 for button/coin cell batteries.
