Kingbright 3mm Red-orange/Green bipolar LEDs

A bicolour LED for general indication and other purposes. These LEDs have a standard 3mm body with two leads, but contain two LEDs back-to-back. When the LED is connected positive to the long lead, the red LED lights, and when connected positive to the short lead, the green LED lights. Drive them with AC and they appear orange. If you vary the mark-space ratio in the AC waveform then you can make any colour between red and green, such as yellow, deep orange or whatever.

Wavelengths are 625nm red (red-orange) and 568nm green. Intensity is around 15mcd for each colour @ 20mA with a 60° viewing angle, making them ideal for general purpose multi-state indicators where a superbright LED is not required.
